Analise Lucio recorded her third double-double of the season with 17 assists and 10 digs, but the Falcons came out flat against Western New Mexico in a three set, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20 loss to the Mustangs Monday afternoon in Odessa.
UTPB started out strong, winning the first five points of the first set and taking a 4-0 lead early in the fourth while also scoring five of the first six points in the third set. But hitting woes plagued the Falcon attack all afternoon. UTPB hit a season-low.048 on the day with 20 errors, their most in a three-set match this season.
Stephanie Sanchez led the Falcons, hitting eight kills and .200 on the day up front.
Megan Ashton had a team-best 13 digs, while
Marissa Aguilar added 11 digs in the match.
The Falcons continue their homestand next weekend, hosting St. Edward's and St. Mary's beginning with a Thursday match against the Hilltoppers at 7 p.m.
