After taking the opening three games of the series, UT Permian Basin dropped the finale to Eastern New Mexico 8-0.
The Falcon (12-17, 3-5) offense could not get going against starter Fernando Burgos, scattering three hits over nine innings. The Falcons had their chances getting runners in scoring position three times including a lead-off triple by
Pemron Burrows in the eighth inning but couldn't capitalize. The Greyhounds scored three unearned runs in the first, then added two in the third and fifth innings before scoring again in the eighth.
Tylor Frailey finished the weekend 8-13 with eight RBI, eight runs scored two triples and a double. The senior was also walked six times on the weekend. Burrows has now reached base safely in 20 consecutive games with his second triple of the season.Â
Krisjon Segleski and
Clay Thompson combined to throw 4.2 innings of relief, allowing just one run and striking out four.
The Falcons hit the road on Tuesday where they'll take on Division I opponent Abilene Christian with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
