Dembley, Carlisle Lead Hot-Shooting Falcons to Blowout of Crusaders

Pat Dembley and Donoven Carlisle combined for 42 points and six Falcons scored in double figures as UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball blew out Dallas Christian 114-58 in front of over 3,000 MISD students as part of the first Education Game Tuesday afternoon at the Chap Center in Midland, Texas.

The Falcons had their best shooting performance as a team of 2019-20, hitting a collective 60 percent of their shots on the day (47-78) from the field. UTPB also hit 13 3-pointers on the afternoon in the 56-point win.

Carlisle had his best game of the season for the Falcons, scoring 20 points on 9-11 shooting from the floor with three steals and four rebounds.

Dembley scored in double-figures for the ninth straight game in 2019, leading UTPB with 22 points on 7-11 shooting with four three-pointers and four steals.

Miles Washington added 14 points in his return to the starting lineup, hitting 7-10 of his field goals on the day.

Elvin Rodriguez had a season-best 16 points in just 11 minutes off the bench, hitting 7-9 from the field for a season-high 16 points.

Brandon Derabine added 12 points on 5-6 shooting while Malik Anderson chipped in 11 points with three 3-pointers, and Fermandez Jones had a season-best eight assists.

The Falcons are back in Lone Star Conference action this week, taking on Midwestern State Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
