Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dembley's 34 Carries Falcons to 11th Victory of Season

UT Permian Basin coasted in the second half behind 34 points from Pat Dembley.  The senior also added seven assists as the Falcons (11-3, 4-1) pulled away in the second half to an 89-72 victory over Texas A&M International.

Both teams traded buckets early with neither team able to get an edge.  The largest either team led was just four until Donoven Carlisle had a personal 4-0 run to close the half with the Falcons in front 42-35.

Elvin Rodriguez opened the second half with a three-point play to push the lead to 10 but the Dustdevils (2-9, 0-5) answered back with a three-point play of their own.  They pushed the Falcon lead down to just four before Dembley and Hernandez connected on threes and Dembley hit a lay-up to push the lead to 12.  The closest the Dustdevils got was nine the rest of the way as the Falcons pulled away down the stretch.

The Falcons had four players finish in double figures.  In addition to Dembley, Miles Washington scored 15 points, Adam Rivera had 11 points with eight rebounds and Carlisle added 10 points.  As a team the Falcons shot 50 percent, 26-for-52 for the contest.

Next week is an off week for the holidays and the Falcons will resume play in 2020 on January 2 at Angelo State.
