UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball shot well from the charity stripe, going 14-of-16 but it wasn't enough to overcome Texas A&M - Kingsville's shooting from the field as the Falcons fell 86-51.

The game was a free throw battle early on as the Falcons (10-3, 3-1) scored five of their first 10 points from the free throw line.  The teams traded buckets but it was the Javelinas (8-2, 4-0) that slowly began to pull away.  The Javelinas closed on a 7-2 run to end the first half as the Falcons struggled from the field.  The Javelinas pulled away in the second half as the Falcons struggled from the field despite getting open looks from the field.

Elvin Rodriguez led the offense with 10 points while pulling down a season-high six rebounds.  Newcomer Minfeke Sanoe added six points and a team-high eight rebounds in his first game of the season.

The Falcons finish the 2019 calendar Saturday when they head to Laredo to take on Texas A&M International with tip-off scheduled for approximately 3 p.m.
