Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Hemmeline Continues Terrific Start, Records First Career Double-Double Against Howard Payne

Freshman Holly Hemmeline continued her terrific start to her Falcon career recording her first career double-double against Howard Payne.  She recorded 13 points along with 10 rebounds.  The freshman also dished out a team-high five assists with three steals, also a team-high.

Lemia Ntor-Ue was also impressive dropping a team-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with five rebounds and a pair of blocks.  It wasn't enough as the Falcons (4-3) fell to the Yellow Jackets (2-2) 75-63 in their final non-conference contest of the season.

The Falcons struggled to get their offense going through the first three quarters, while the Yellow Jackets shot 62.5 percent from three-point range.  The Falcons went into the fourth quarter trailing 59-42 but made a run to make things interesting.  An 11-0 run to start the quarter made it just a six point game.  A free throw by Hemmeline trimmed the deficit to just five, but that was as close as they could get it as the Yellow Jackets continued to shoot well from long range to pull away.

Rory Carter scored 11 points and has now scored in double figures in three of the last four games, while Alexus Quaadman added in six points with nine rebounds.

The Falcons resume Lone Star Conference play after Thanksgiving break next Thursday when they take on Midwestern State in Odessa.
