The Falcons had to rally after the hometown Aggies started off the day hot from three. Cameron went 8-10 from 3-point range to start the game on their way to taking a 16-point lead at 37-21 midway through the first half.
UTPB fought back to make it a single-digit game late in the half when
Demarco Jackson hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds of the half to pull within 55-46 at the break.
The Aggies good luck wouldn't last long after halftime. The Falcons closed within two possessions after a 3-point play by Elder and a fast-break layup from
Adam Rivera brought UTPB within 60-56 five minutes into the second half.
UTPB rallied to take the lead on a fast-break layup by Elder with 12:29 remaining in the game to go on top 65-64.
The Falcons led the remainder of the game. Cameron pulled within a pair of points during the final minute, but
Xavier Ledet and Elder each hit a free throw in the final minute to wrap up the four-point victory.
Elder scored a season-best 34 points on the night, hitting 12-21 from the field while nailing 6-8 from 3-point range. He added five assists and seven rebounds on the day.
Jacob Ledoux added 12 points, scoring all of his on the day on four 3-pointers as the only other Falcon to hid double-figures.
Tyus Momoh led four Cameron players in double figures, pacing the Aggies with 17 points on the day.
