The UT Permian Basin men's tennis team started their season hot for the second consecutive season with a perfect road trip to Colorado. 

As a team UTPB started fast with a 5-2 win over Colorado State - Pueblo.  Doubles teams of Raul Stevens- Jordan Minjoot and Juan Diego Ruiz- Jorge Garcia each sqeaked out 9-8 victories.  UTPB followed it up by winning four of six singles matches including the top three seeds.  Diego Ruiz had a huge win over Thomas Pudney, who as of the last rankings in May was number 22 in Division II and the runner up at the ITA South Central Regional in 2017.  Diego Ruiz won 6-2, 6-3.

UTPB also took down Colorado Mesa University 5-2.  After losing the point in doubles to Colorado Mesa, the team fell into a hole when five of the six singles matches lost their first set.  The team rallied back to win the match as a team.  Raul Stevens defeated Max Lunqvist who was ranked number 62 in Division II tennis.  Colorado Mesa was ranked fourth in the South Central Region in May which would be the highest ranked opponent UTPB has ever defeated.

UTPB finished off the weekend sweep with a win over Colorado College 7-0.  Ever singles player won their match in straight sets.
