The UT Permian Basin women's soccer team opens the 2018 season with a pair of non-conference games against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Texas A&M International Dustdevils on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Falcons finished last season with a 1-15-1 record and a 1-11 record in the Lone Star Conference. The Falcons return their top two scorers from 2017 in junior
Ariel Roybal and senior
Deonna Green. Green was an All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2017 while second team sophomore goalkeeper
Chenoa Crites returns as well.
Colorado Mesa finished the 2017 season 8-9-1 and 5-6-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They were eliminated in the RMAC Conference Tournament by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the first round. Their head coach Jason Clare is in his fifth season with the team, taking the Mavericks from one win in 2014 to nine in 2016.
Texas A&M International finished the 2017 season 3-12-2 overall with a 2-11-1 record in the Heartland Conference. The last time these two teams met the Falcons won 1-0 in Odessa on October 1, 2015.
