UT Permian Basin men's basketball coach
Josh Newman announced Tuesday the addition of guard Jerry Perry for the 2018-19 season.
Perry, a 6-3 senior from Maumell, Ark., played in 11 games last season at Texas Southern. He averaged 3.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 18.4 minutes per game. Perry scored a season-high 14 points on 6-11 shooting on the road at Alabama A&M.
He went to Texas Southern after playing at Bossier Parish CC, where he averaged 19 points, eight assists and five rebounds.
"Jerry is a dynamic guard that will put constant pressure on the defense with his play making and scoring ability," said Newman. "He will be able to impact the game in every facet. Jerry's physicality and toughness will translate well to the Lone Star Conference."
Perry joins returners
Daven Joseph and
John Moscoso and newcomers Adam Rivera, Kyree Elder and Xavier Ledet for next season.
