UT Permian Basin dropped the first game of a four-game series against Angelo State 13-0 Friday night in seven innings.
When Angelo State scored, they scored in bunches. Angelo State scored six runs in the second inning to grab the lead. The big blow came on a two-run single by Mitch Henshaw. Angelo State added four more in the third inning. Alex Salcido had a two-run double followed by a two-run single by Nicholas Novak to make a 10-0 game. A Jacob Boston two-run home run in the sixth made it 12-0 before adding another run.
Alex Wixson led the Falcons with a pair of hits to boost his average to a team high .333. Joseph Kelleher added a double as well.
UTPB and Angelo State continue their four-game series with a double header on Saturday before the finale Sunday.
