UT Permian Basin women's basketball had four players score in double figures and led by as many as 23 points as the Falcons wrapped up their 2017-18 home schedule with an 83-64 win over Texas A&M Kingsville Saturday afternoon in Odessa, Texas.
Jackie Perez and
Sierra LaGrande had the 3-pointer working on the day, as Perez went 4-7 beyond the arc and LaGrande hit five field goals on the afternoon, all from 3-point range, to help UTPB hit 12 from deep for the game.
Both teams shot 50 percent on the day, but UTPBÂ had 16 more field goal attempts (32-64 to 24-48) and hit five more 3-pointers.
LaGrande and Pippins-Tryon each had 15 points, Pippins-Tryon leading UTPB with four steals. Perez added 12 points with four assists, while
Jasmine Spriggins hit 5-7 off the bench for 11 points.Â
Victoria Lopez added seven assists as UTPB assisted on 24 of 32 baskets.
Sadie Russell led the Javelinas with 18 points, while Aneglica Wilson added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Post game, UTPBÂ honored its 2017-18 senior class by recognizing seniors Jackie Perez, Nakedra Burke,
Victoria Lopez,
Sierra LaGrande, Heather Crittenden and Kristel Reid along with their family and friends.
The Falcons are on the road to close out the regular season, traveling next weekend for games at Tarleton State and Texas A&M - Commerce.
