A slow start doomed UT Permian Basin women's basketball as they fell to Regis 61-41 in Denver.
The Falcons (1-4) held Regis (3-1) to just 37 percent shooting in the first half of action and 32 points, but the offense could not get going. The team shot 14.3 percent from the field and scored 10 points heading into the half.Â
The second half was a different story with the team outscoring the Rangers 31-29.Â
Khali Pippins-Tryon scored eight of her nine points in the second half. The Falcon offense cut down on turnovers in the second half committing only six.Â
Lemia Ntor-Ue led the way with 10 points for the Falcons. Pippins-Tryon also finished with a game-high nine rebounds to go along with five steals.Â
Teya Morris added eight points on 3-5 shooting and four rebounds off the bench in the effort.
The Falcons continue their Colorado trip tomorrow when they take on Colorado School of Mines at 4 p.m. before starting conference play next week against Texas Woman's on Saturday.
