UT Permian Basin dropped its first of a pair of weekend road contests Friday night, falling 12-25, 17-25, 23-25 on the road in Stephenville against #17 Tarleton State.
The Falcons were held to just .099 hitting on the night while the TexAnns hit .239 as a team.
Marissa Aguilar and
Travana Matthews each collected seven kills for the Falcons, Matthews leading UTPB with a .286 hitting percentage in the match.
Analice Lucio had 14 assists for the Falcons, while she tied
Sarah Vasquez with eight digs for the team lead.
Amber Strange led Tarleton State with 11 kills, hitting .588 on the evening. Adrianna Knutson led all players with 12 digs and Blanca Izquierdo had a game-high 18 assists.
The Falcons return to action tomorrow afternoon, taking on Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas, at 2 p.m.
