UT Permian Basin volleyball opened road action this weekend with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 loss against Texas Woman's in Denton Friday night.
The Falcons were able to gain a lead in each set, but were unable to keep Texas Woman's from making large runs late in each of the three sets of the sweep.
Skyler Friel and Travanna Matthews each led the Falcons with nine kills, while
Aquincia Strambler added seven winners on the night. Matthews led the Falcons hitting .444 on the evening with just one error on 18 attempts.
Sarah Vasquez had a team-high 14 digs in the match, and
Analise Lucio led the Falcons with 14 assists.
Courtney Noel had a match-high 16 kills for the Pioneers. Kate Ranes led TWU with 42 assists and Bailey French had 16 digs for Texas Woman's.
The Falcons are back in action Saturday afternoon, taking on #21 Texas A&M Commerce at 1 p.m. in Commerce, Texas.
