Eastern New Mexico led off Friday afternoon's first of four games this weekend with eight straight runs on its way to defeating UT Permian Basin Baseball 10-5 at Roden Field.
The Greyhounds pieced together 15 total hits, including a pair of doubles and triples each in the five run victory.
Trailing 8-0,
Daniel Andrade scored the first run of the day for UTPBÂ on a bases loaded balk in the bottom of the fourth.
Doug Clapperton scored in the bottom of the fifth on a ground-out by
Tyler Houlihan, and
William Bierlein added a third in the next inning on a single by
Randal Toribio.
Andrade added a second run for the day in the bottom of the eighth, scoring on a triple to right field that was then thrown away in the infield to allow him to score on the error.
Chris Ortega added a fifth run in the ninth on a Clapperton ground out to second.
UTPB and Eastern New Mexico are back Saturday afternoon with a pair of seven inning games. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
