UT Permian Basin baseball once again scored early in the fourth and final game of its series against Cameron, but the Aggies scored six runs in the final three innings to score a 7-2 win over UTPB Sunday afternoon at Roden Field in Odessa, Texas.
Randal Toribio started the scoring in the bottom of the second with a single on the ground into left field, and
Jackson Pritchard scored when the ball was misplayed on an error for a 1-0 lead.Â
Dan Andrade added a run in the third with a single into center that scored Mitchel Hazlett when the ball was fumbled by the center fielder.
Cameron scored four times in the top of the seventh to take a 5-2 lead, getting RBI's from Cody Bower, Cody Knight and Leno Ramirez to go on top for good.
A run scored on a wild pitch in the eighth and another RBI in the ninth by Knight capped the scoring for Cameron.
Mike Fernandez led the Falcons with a pair of hits as each of the first seven batters in the lineup for UTPB recorded a hit.
Matt Szymczak struck out 11 batters for UTPB in 6.2 innings. He was charged with four runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks.
Javarias Banks earned the win in relief for Cameron, throwing 4.1 perfect innings without allowing a baserunner while striking out nine batters.
