The University of Texas of the Permian Basin Athletics and KOSA-CBS7 announced Monday a media partnership that will lead to the Falcons being showcased on a number of networks.
"We are excited about the partnership UTPB and CBS have created," UTPB athletics director
Steve Aicinena said. "The agreement will permit UTPB and the athletic program to share some of the many successes and interesting personal stories of our athletes and coaches. The administration, coaching staff and athletes are excited about the enhanced coverage of our program as a whole."
UTPB will be featured extensively this fall, beginning when Falcon football kicks off for the first time in just under two weeks. MyTV 16 will broadcast a live pregame show before all seven UTPB football home games from 6:30-p.m., beginning with the team's first ever game Friday, September 3
rd. The channel will also show a rebroadcast of the previous weekend's game each Tuesday night.
"The rebroadcast of our home games is on a great day at an optimal time," said Aicinena. "It is difficult to find college or professional football on Tuesday evenings. Die-hard fans will be able to tune in and see the high level of play found at the NCAA Division II level."
Additional programming includes a coach's show that will be broadcast on CBS 7 every Sunday night at 10:30 p.m. that will feature coaches from all of 16 athletic teams over the course of the year.
