UT-Permian Basin baseball scored the final seven runs of Saturday afternoon's series closer against St. Mary's, and
Mike Fernandez started the rally with a big hit in the top of the seventh in a 10-7 come from behind win at St. Mary's.
Trailing 7-3,Fernandez came through with the team's second home run of the game, this one with the bases loaded for a game-tying grand slam to even the score at 7-7.
UTPB later loaded the bases again in the inning and added on another run when
Jack Miller walked to advance the runners 90 feet to take the 8-7 lead.
Alex Fernandez and Miller each added to the Falcons lead in the final two innings; A. Fernandez hitting a sac fly to right and Miller hitting a double to drive in the 10th and final run.
Jordan Zazulak went yard earlier in the game, hitting a two-run shot that had pulled the Falcons within two runs in the top of the fifth.
John Rodriguez earned the win, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings wihout giving up a hit. He allowed just one baserunner on a walk and struck out two.
Nolan Schattel picked up his third save of the season, striking out two and walking two in an inning.
