A day after beginning its California road tip with a tight 7-6 loss against #24 UC San Diego, the Tritons came back with a pair of wins against UTPB Friday night, defeating the Falcons 8-1 and 5-3 in La Jolla, Calif.

UCSD won the opener in decisive fashion, scoring the first eight runs of the night. UTPB finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the ninth when Jordan Zazulak hit a home run to left field, his first of the season.

The Tritons opened game two much like game one, scoring the first five runs and taking a 5-0 lead after a four-run second inning.

The Falcons grabbed a run back in the sixth when Chase Dillon stole second and Doug Clapperton stole home on the throw.

UTPB was able to bring up the tying run to the plate in the seventh when Alfred Iturralde doubled into left to score Ryan Souza and a Jackson Pritchard single into right drove home Iturralde.

UTPB faces another tough test Saturday afternoon, playing two against 9th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona .
