UT Permian Basin men's basketball came to play on defense, holding Western New Mexico to just 30 percent shooting in a 90-56 home win over the Mustangs Saturday afternoon in Odessa.
The Falcons connected on 41 percent from the field while WNMU hit just 18-60 from the field. UTPB also went 17-22 from the free throw line and hit 13 3-pointers while the Mustangs connected on six shots beyond the arc and went just 14-27 at the line.

Daeshon Francis shook off a slow start to end the night with a game-high 21 points, 16 in the second half, on 8-13 shooting with eight rebounds.
Johnnie Lacy added 16 points with a team-high six assists.
Lucious McKay provided a spark off the bench, hitting five 3-pointers for a season-high 15 points.
Sammy Allen dominated the glass, ending the night with a season-high 18 rebounds.
UTPB hits the road Tuesday night, traveling to Canyon, Texas, for its first Lone Star away game at West Texas A&M.
