UT Permian Basin volleyball senior Jordan McDonald was named to the 2016 Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team, and junior Caitlyn Guajardo and freshman Travana Matthews were named honorable mention all-conference, the Lone Star announced Wednesday night at the 2016 volleyball banquet.

McDonald is a biochemistry/pre-med major with a 4.0 GPA. The Orlando, Fla. native started seven times this season and appeared in 29 matches. She ranked second on the team with 252 digs and averaged 2.8 digs per set.

Guajardo made 24 starts and appeared in all 30 contests this season. The junior from Corpus Christi led the Falcons with 292 kills on the season and averaged 2.83 kills per set.

Matthews started 23 times and appeared in 29 matches in her rookie season at UTPB. From Bellair, she ranked second on the team with 156 kills and tallied 1.68 kills/sey on the year.
