UT-Permian Basin women's basketball couldn't miss from 3-point range early on in their Saturday afternoon game against Texas A&M International, but the Falcons' fortunes reversed almost as fast as the team struggled from deep in the final three quarters of a 77-49 loss at home in Heartland Conference action.

UTPB was 5-7 from behind the arc in the first quarter, hitting four in a row at a time while holding pace with the Dustdevils to tral by a point, 22-21, after 10 minutes of play.

The Falcons struggled from long range over the final 30 minutes, hitting just one more behind the arc in the second half and connecting on only 1-12 from 3-point distance in the second half as Texas A&M International held the Falcons to just seven points in each of the second and fourth quarters.

Niniva Taito connected on four of UTPB's seven 3-pointers, leading the Falcons with 16 points and six rebouns on a 6-11 day from the field.

Jessica Prieto led all players with 28 points for the Dustdevils, hitting 10-17 from the floor with a 6-10 day from three. Keiona Mathews double-doubled for Texas A&M International with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
