Box Score UTPB Women's Soccer kicked off its 2015 season with a 3-1 defeat on the road at New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, Nev.

Trailing 2-0, Erica Ancich got UTPB back within a goal when she scored the Falcons first goal of the season at 81:20.

The Cowgirls pushed their lead back two two goals with just over three minutes remaining on a strike by Nicole Millar.

New Mexico Highlands went ahead late in the first half, scoring a pair in under four minutes by Molly Mortensen and Anyssa Dagnino at 41:05 and 44:47, respectively.

NMHU out-shot the Falcons 21-5 on the night and held a 9-3 shot on goal advantage. Ebony Campbell stepped up to stop six shots in net for the Falcons.

UTPB stays on the road this weekend, traveling to Colorado for a 1 p.m. game at Adams State.
