UTPB improved to 12-4 on the season and a perfect 3-0 after its first weekend of Heartland Conference action, sweeping Texas A&M International witha  5-1 Sunday afternoon victory at Roden Field in Odessa.

The Falcons got a pair in the bottom of the first, scoring when Brian Van Vranken drove home Matt Reyes on a sacrifice fly to right. Kevin Barnes later singled into right to score Ryan Souza.

An error in the bottom of the second on a ground ball by Matt Reyes allowed Jack Miller to come home for a 3-0 UTPB lead.

The Falcons got two more in the fourth, taking advantage of errors by the Dustdevils when Colin Kowal singled back up the middle to plate Ty Morgan and scoring their final run on a dropped ball at first that led Kowal cross home plate.

Chris Cano improved to 3-0 on the season, limiting Texas A&M International to four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in a seven inning start. 

Barnes led UTPB with a 3-4 day at the plate, picking up nearly half of the team's seven hits.

The Falcons are back home in two days, hosting Wayland Baptist Tuesday afternoon in a solo non-conference contest at 2 p.m.
