Baseball Loses Game Three 12-2 to Close Out Weekend with #15 St. Edward's

UTPB baseball wrapped up its first road conference series of the year Saturday when #15 St. Edward's picked up its second win in the three game set with a 12-2 defeat of the Falcons at Lucian-Hamilton Field in Austin, Texas.

The Falcons grabbed lthe early lead, going on top 2-0 in the first when David Lee tripled to score Ryan Souza and Brian Van Vranken got a single through the hole on the right to drive in Lee.

But the Hilltoppers responded with a two-run bottom of the first to even the game at 2-2, and put together a  big bottom of the second, scoring six times to take a commanding 8-2 lead before eventually winning 12-2.

Randal Toribio led UTPB with a pair of hits in three at-bats on the day.

The Falcons are back home next weekend, hosting Newman Friday and Saturday as the first half of a six game homestand.
