UT-Permian Basin men's basketball picked up its first win of the season on its first game at home Wednesday afternoon, downing Arlington Baptist 112-75.
The Falcons rode some incredible shooting from their starting five to the 37-point win. The five UTPB starters finished the night a combined 37-of-54 from the field (68.5 percent) and went 10-of-20 from 3-point distance on the day.
All five UTPB starters finished in double figures, led by
Johnnie Lacy and
Billy Dee Williams each pacing the Falcons with 24 points apiece.Â
Tramique Sutherland scored 17 points with a team-high seven assists in his first game in a UTPB uniform, while
Codye Hatcher dropped 16 points with six boards and
Gary Akbar had 12 with four assists.
The Falcons made turnovers count, scoring 40 points off of TO's with 16 fast-break points.
UTPB is back on the road this weekend, taking on Southwestern Adventist and Paul Quinn in a pair of neutral site games in Laredo.
