UTPB volleyball opened up the week with a 3-1 road loss at Dallas Baptist Thursday night in Dallas, Texas

Having dropped the first set 19-25, UTPB staged a furious comeback after falling behind 17-7 in the second. The Falcons out-scored the Patriots 11-2 to get within a point at 19-18, but Dallas Baptist reached set point with a 24-20 lead. The Falcons pulled the second set out by scoring the final six points of the second set, winning the last two points on a kill and an ace by Caitlyn Guajardo.

Dallas Baptist came back to take early leads in each of the remaining sets to end the match with 25-22 and 25-21 wins in the third and fourth, respectively.

Guajardo led the Falcons and tied for the match lead with 14 kills on the night. Ariana Gallardo pulled double duty, pacing UTPB with 32 assists and 16 digs.

The Falcons are back in action Saturday afternoon, traveling to Austin for a noon contest at St. Edward's.
