Swimming Drops Pair of Duals at Trinity

UTPB swimming hit the water in San Antonio Saturday afternoon as the Falcon men fell to Trinity 141-121 and the women dropped a 190-86 contest.

The UTPB men got the day started with a win in the 200 Medley Relay as the team of Jack Maloy, Alex Ruata, Kyle Smith and Kyle Marshall took first with a time of 1:37.47. 

Alex Ruata earned a pair of wins for the men's team, taking first in the 100 breaststroke in 58.71 before coming back later for a 2:13.66 in the 200 breaststroke for another victory.

Johan Jonsson finished at the front of the pack in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:28.06.

Maloy earned a win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.91.

David de Benito Cabezas took first place in the 200 butterfly with a winning time of 2:01.46

Amanda Alspaugh earned a pair of victories for the Falcons, taking first in the 1000 freestyle in 11:06.93 and earning a win with a time of 1:00.91 in the 100 butterfly.

Peyton Slater earned the team's other win on the day, finishing first in the 100 freestyle in 54.76.

UTPB is back in action in two weeks, traveling to the Henderson State Invite in Arkadelhpia, Ark.
