Texas A&M International Knocks Off Women's Soccer 2-1 in Overtime

Box Score Jasmin Lopez scored in the 31st minute to give the UTPB women's soccer team a 1-0 lead in Heartland Conference action Monday afternoon, but Texas A&M International came back to grab the last two goals of the day, ending the afternoon with a 107th minue game-winner for a 2-1 defeat of the Falcons in Laredo.

Lopez notched her team-leading third score of the year at 30:51 to put UTPB on top, scoring from 35 yards out on an assist from Danica Hansen.

The lead held over the next 31 minutes until Rebecca Bell tied the game for the Dustdevils from 10 yards out.

Kim Garcia scored the golden goal in the second overtime of the day from up close to give TAMIU the game-winner.

Meredith Gebo stopped 10 of 12 shots on net she faced on the day in her second start of the season. 

Sarah McPherson, Lopez, Ashley Redwine and Alexa Branum each had three shot attemps with Lopez and Redwine placing two each on net.

The Falcons return home this weekend, hosting Newman Saturday evening at 5 p.m.
