Box Score The University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's soccer dropped a 2-0 conference match Monday afternoon against Newman in Wichita, Kan.

The host Jets got a pair of first half goals to lead 2-0 at halftime. Maricela Ruvalcaba broke a scoreless tie in the 17th minute with a goal from the left side, and Blair Terry doubled up the NU lead 17 minutes later with a shot to the top of the net from the top of the box at 33:51.

The Falcons started the match out with a strong offensive rush, getting off four of its 12 shots in the match in a five minute span between the 7th and 12th minutes. Sal Gebre got a pair of shots off in three seconds that were both saved and Jessica Saulter had a shot saved at 10:31 with a header by Kourtnye Chandler ending up wide of the net half a minute later.

The Falcons travel to St. Edward's this weekend, taking to the pitch against the Hilltoppers Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
