The University of Texas of the Permian Basin appeared poised to win its first match of the 2012 season Thursday night, but a late goal on a penalty shot extended the match into double overtime, where Texas A&M International scored with a couple minute remaining to take a 2-1 win at the UTPB Soccer Field.

Kourtnye Chandler gave UTPB its first lead of the season in the 61st minute, scoring on a corner kick from Alyssa Eich to put the Falcons ahead 1-0.

The lead would stand until the final minute in regulation when a handball in the UTPB defensive zone gave Texas A&M International a penalty kick, and Sam Zerelli finished the attempt to knot the game at 1-1.

Neither team scored in the first 10 minute of overtime, sending the contest to a second and final 10 minute session.

Valeria Jaramillo scored the game-winner on a golden-goal in the 108th minute on an assist from Zerelli to give the Dustdevils a 2-1 win.

UTPB returns to action at the UTPB Soccer Field this weekend, hosting St. Mary's Saturday at noon.
