Dallas Baptist scored three second half goals which proved to be too much for The University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's soccer team as the Patriots took a 4-1 win in Heartland Conference action.

DBU's Brittany Layne scored an unassisted goal eight minutes into play after receiving a pass and dribbling through two defenders for the first score of the game.  Her shot found the lower left corner of the net, giving the Patriots a 1-0 advantage.  Layne took three shots in the game and made her lone shot on goal count as it proved to be the game-winner.

Just over seven minutes later, Danielle Presley gave Dallas Baptist a 2-0 edge after heading in a cross from Baylie Hill for her third goal of the season.  Hannah Dozier cut the lead in half at the 32nd minute when she took a through pass from Lyndsey Thomas and simply out-ran the defense before her shot found the lower right corner past DBU goal keeper Kerry Edwards.

The Patriots out-shot UTPB 16-7 and had eight shots on goal to the Falcons' five in the game.

Bad luck came the Falcons' way as a shot ricocheted off a UTPB defender and slipped past Frueh for an own-goal, give the Patriots a 3-1 lead.

Just under two minutes to play, Lea Sedwick put in her fifth goal of the season after Layne's initial shot hit off the post, which Sedwick one-timed into the net for the Patriots' fourth goal of the contest.

UTPB fell to 1-7 on the year and 0-2 in Heartland Conference play and will head to Wichita, Kan. to take on Newman at 7 p.m.
