PUEBLO, Colo – Logan Sharp scored early in the second half to lift The University of Texas of the Permian Basin to a 1-0 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo. 

 

Sharp received a through pass from Tyler Pate and beat goal keeper Jacob Blum on a one-on-one to even the Falcons' record at 2-2 on the year. Craig Branum picked up the first shutout of his career as he gathered 10 saves, including six in the first half.

 

The Thunderwolves gave Branum plenty of action as they took 18 total shots with 10 being on goal. The Falcons on the other hand took 10 shots with only three being on goal, but it took just one to make a difference. Sharp took a team-high three shots while Steven Smith had two – both of which were on goal. 

 

UTPB will open Heartland Conference play this Friday when it heads to Austin to take on St. Edward's at 4 p.m.
