The Falcons pulled within two on two different occasions but were never able to tie the game. A three-pointer by
Louis Crane with 15:47 in the first made it 9-7, but the Rattlers answered with six-straight points to go up by eight.
Mihai Urichianu also drained a three with just over seven minutes to play before the break to make it 19-17, but a 10-2 run by St. Mary's gave it a 10-point advantage. The Rattlers would take a 33-24 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
The second half was much of the same as the Falcons would pull within striking distance only to see St. Mary's go on a mini run to stop the threat. Five different players scored in double-figures for the Rattlers led by Jeff Campbell's 13 while three others scored 12.
