Carolina Hernandez scored a goal at the 19:08 mark which proved to be enough as St. Mary's took a 1-0 win over the University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's soccer team. 

Hernandez's ball found the back of the net off her header from the middle of the box.  Her goal was one of five shots on goal for the Rattlers.  The Falcons seemed to control the tempo of the game with 21 total shots, eight of which were on goal. 

Fifteen of the Falcons' 21 shots came in the second half, but St. Mary's goal keeper Felicia Lombardo stopped five of the eight shots on goal while the rest of the team blocked the other three. 

The Falcons will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 21 when they host Dallas Baptist at 7 p.m.
