Steven Flowers

Steven comes to UTPB from  Western New Mexico University, where he spent the last two seasons serving as the Assistant Coach for the Mustangs with his wife and current Falcon assistant coach, Lauren Flowers. His two seasons at WNMU were met with both team and individual success. The team went to the conference championships each year. They were represented in two separate conferences with a second place finish in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in 2015, to go with a championship bid in 2016 which was WNMU’s inaugural year competing in the Lone Star Conference. The 2015 season saw the team listed as high as eighth in the region. For individual awards, he helped to coach seven all-conference players in his time there. This included the LSC Defensive Player of the Year and South Central All-Region member Shannon Rich. His teams also saw success in the classrooms as they had four first team All-Academic honors and had an RMAC high of eleven student-athletes named to the honor roll list in 2015.

Prior to his time at WNMU, Flowers coached club volleyball at Oklahoma Peak Performance where he was able to lead his team to multiple top finishes in the region. began his coaching career at Huntington Christian School in Huntington Beach, CA where he was the head coach for the boys and the assistant for the women’s team.

Steven received his Bachelors in Sports, Wellness, and Recreation Management from Oklahoma Christian University in 2015 and just completed his Masters in Educational Leadership in 2017 from Western New Mexico University. While on staff at UTPB he will also be pursuing a second Masters degree in Kinesiology.
