Lauren Flowers

Lauren Flowers enters her first year with the Falcons after spending two seasons at Western New Mexico University.During the 2016 season when WNMU joined the Lone Star Conference, Lauren helped guide the Mustangs to their first LSC tournament. She helped coach three all-conference players, including Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year Shannon Rich, who recorded 138 blocks and was also a member of the all-academic team. The Mustangs led the conference in blocks per set (2.29) and were third in hitting percentage (.224).

Lauren helped guide the Lady Mustangs to a very successful 2015 campaign that had WNMU flirting with the top spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and nearly earning an NCAA Regional selection. The team collected 19 victories, 14 in the RMAC and had four players (Leeta Grap, Shannon Rich, Heather Verrill and Ashley Mataele) garner all RMAC accolades. The team did even better in the classroom, posting a conference-high 11 on the All-RMAC Academic list.

Before WNMU, Lauren was an assistant at Bethany High School in Bethany, Okla., helping guide the team to a fourth place finish at the 2014 state tournament. She also added coaching duties that spring for the 17's Rush Volleyball Club.

Lauren played for Azusa Pacific University. While there, the Cougars finished 5th overall in the 2011 NAIA national tournament before moving to NCAA Division II. She majored in Liberal Studies and graduated in December 2014. She received her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Western New Mexico University in the summer of 2017. Lauren co-coaches alongside her husband, Steven. The two were married in 2014.
