Ginny Perry enters her sixth season as a member of the UT Permian Basin Volleyball coaching staff. Perry has been a part of the UTPB Volleyball program since August 2015 as a volunteer assistant. While at UTPB, Perry has worked primarily with the defense making significant strides over the past four seasons. The Falcons finished out the 2018 season with a 16.46 average digs per set, ranking third in the Lone Star conference.
Perry began her coaching career as the varsity head volleyball at Hermitage High School in Richmond, Virginia, where her efforts yielded a third and fourth place finish in the district tournament. While at Hermitage, she was named 2009 Colonial District Coach of the Year.
She then coached at Randolph-Macon College as a volunteer assistant, helping the season to an ODAC Conference tournament championship, a sweet sixteen finish in the NCAA Division III tournament, and helped four players earn All-ODAC honors including the ODAC Player of the Year. Perry then served as the head coach at Mills E. Godwin High School for one season, finishing second in the district tournament. Perry next served as the head coach at The Steward school for two seasons prior to relocating to Odessa, Texas.
In addition to her college and high school coaching experience, Perry coached Junior Olympic club volleyball for the Richmond Volleyball Club for five years. Her club teams won multiple tournaments and earned one bid to the Junior Olympic National Championship tournament earning an eleventh-place finish.
As a player, Perry began her career at Randolph-Macon College lettering in volleyball and softball her freshman year earning Second Team All-Conference and Second Team All-State honors in softball. She then transferred to Radford University where she was a three-year letter winner for the Highlander's volleyball team.
Perry holds a Bachelors of Science in Education from Radford University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from UT Permian Basin.
Ginny and her husband, Nick, reside in Odessa, Texas with their dog, Mildred.
