    Women's Basketball - Student Assistant Coach
Tamia Flores will serve as a student assistant coach for UTPB women's basketball in the Fall of 2025.

The West Dallas, Texas, native graduated from JBS Law Magnet. Flores played at Dr. L. G. Pinkston Sr. High School and led her team to the state semifinals in her final season.

In the Fall of 2021, Flores started her college journey at the UTPB. While at UTPB, she participated the past four seasons of basketball - two redshirt seasons and two active seasons. She was named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll during all eight semesters, and earned the 2025 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Coach Rae Boothe added, “Tamia is mature beyond her years and always has been. I am looking forward to Tamia serving in a coaching role. She is well spoken, intentional with everything she does, has a great basketball mind and has worked hard to build great relationships with students, staff and community members.”

Flores earned her Bachelors of Science in Criminology in December 2024 and will complete her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in December 2025. 

Flores added, “I am very excited to be in a new role with my team and love being part of my university community where I am actively involved and have built strong relationships.”
