Sam Brenner enters her third season as an assistant coach at UT Permian Basin. Brenner was hired in April 2018 to instruct players at the post position, assist in recruiting, coordinating community service projects and oversee student-athlete academic success.
Brenner helped with a major turnaround in 2019-20 as the Falcons won the most Lone Star Conference games in their fourth season in the conference. Brenner coached post player Alexis Quaadman to a historic season. In just her freshman season, Quaadman became the program's all-time leader in blocks and set the single season record for rebounds. She finished with eight double-doubles, also a school record.
Prior to coming to Odessa, Brenner was at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire where she served as the assistant coach for two seasons.
As a player, Brenner started her career at Division I Vermont where she played in 32 games across two seasons. She would finish her final two seasons after transferring to Adelphi University. There her team won the NE-10 Conference regular season, NE-10 Tournament Championship and hosted the NCAA East Regional her junior season.
Coach Brenner has an MBA in Sports Management from Franklin Pierce and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management with a minor in Marketing from Adelphi.
