Joshua Lopez is in his first season as an assistant coach for the UT Permian Basin Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team.
Lopez earned four letters at Hardin-Simmons, where he played one year with UTPB head coach Alex Hunt. He was All-American Southwest Conference (ASC) and All-ASC West in doubles in 2020-21. As a senior in 2021-22, he was All-ASC and All-ASC West in both singles and doubles.
Lopez helped the Cowboys win their first ASC championship in 15 years as a senior. He was the ASC West Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year (2021-22) and was a three-time Academic All-ASC selection.

Lopez played at Mansfield Legacy High School. He played three years at No. 1 Singles, was a 16s and 18s Texas Super Champ Level competitor and a two-time regional qualifier.
Lopez has a B.S. in Exercise Science.
