Micka Stout

Micka Stout

The UT Permian Basin men's basketball team has welcomed Micka Stout as the new assistant coach.

Stout comes from the University of Charleston (UC) in Charleston, WV where he was an assistant men's basketball coach for a very successful Golden Eagles program. During his five years there, the team went 111-31, including the 23-24 season where they went 29-5. The team went on to win the regular season and conference tournament titles while advancing to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16.

During his time at UC, Stout oversaw the development of the post players developing two top ten scorers in school history, a conference player of the year, a conference freshman of the year, and several all-conference selections.

In all five of his years at UC, the team was top seven in the nation in field goal percentage offense across all three NCAA divisions, including being first in the nation across all divisions during the 2023-24 season.

Stout is getting ready to enter his sixth year in coaching and is very excited about becoming a Falcon and helping Head Men's Basketball Coach Kyle Tolin achieve the vision he has for the program. There is no doubt Stout will be a great addition to the Falcon family. He's excited to make an impact on the players and the program.

Coach Stout also has a connection to UTPB, as his former boss, Dwaine Osborne, used to be the Head Men's Basketball Coach.
