UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball is bringing in a new graduate assistant with plenty of Power 5 experience, Isaiah Torres.  Torres comes to UTPB after serving as the student manager at UT Austin under Shaka Smart.

The Longhorns finished 21-16 two seasons ago and won the National Invitational Tournament over Libscomb.  Last season they were 19-12, with three wins over nationally ranked teams before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are excited to add Isaiah to our staff," said Head Coach Josh Newman.  "He has a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge for a young coach. His experiences as a manager with the University of Texas Men's Basketball program, under Shaka Smart, will pay dividends as he transitions into more of a coaching role."
