Was a 2-Time First-Team All-District running back, was 2-time First-Team All-Academic, and was 1-time All-Academic for State at William J. Brennan High School... Had 2,450 career rushing yards and 42 touchdowns... Had a school record five touchdowns in one game... Team was 3-time Area champions and 1-time District champions... Selected to play in the prestigious San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game... Micai Thompson Goes Supernova in Brennan Victory: Micai Thompson rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns to lead Brennan (2-0), No. 3 in the Express-News Class 6A/5A rankings, as the Bears knocked off No. 1 Smithson Valley (1-1) — the defending Class 5A Division I state champions — for the second year in a row. Thompson sparked Brennan with his 47-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, which gave the Bears their first lead of the game at 17-14, after trailing Smithson Valley 14-3 early in the frame. Thompson scored his second touchdown of the game on a 14-yard run with 5:27 left in the fourth quarter, pushing the Bears’ advantage to 30-21... Micai Thompson's Big Game Leads Brennan over Marshall: Brennan found a leader in Micai Thompson as the team took down Marshall on Saturday (Oct. 11, 2025). He rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns... Micai Thompson Put Up Big Numbers Against Reagan (Again): Brennan came out on top against Reagan on Friday (Nov. 14, 2025) thanks in part to Micai Thompson's efforts. Thompson made a splash, rushing for 78 yards and one TD... Micai Thompson is your TNL Player of the Game (Sept. 2024): Brennan junior running back Micai Thompson rushed for 206 yards on 14 carries and scored four touchdowns as the Bears routed the Sotomayor Wildcats 38-0 under the Thursday Night Lights... Was also a member of the 4x100 school record in track... Went to the 2026 UIL State Track meet for the 4x100 and 4x200... In his essay, Micai shared his vision of using a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and Public Relations to promote entrepreneurship, support youth-focused programs, and inspire young people in underserved communities to believe in their future and stay focused on their goals. Micai will continue both his academic and football journey at The University of Texas Permian Basin, where he plans to pursue his undergraduate and graduate degrees while working toward becoming a successful businessman and community leader.
