2025 (Redshirt Junior):
Named Honorable Mention All-LSC... In his return season at UTPB, Horak played in all 11 games during the regular season at safety/rover... Played in 13 games overall... Totaled 34 tackles, 20 solo tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack, and had three pass breakups... Had three tackles and an eight-yard sack in UTPB's season-opening win over No. 5 Central Oklahoma (Aug. 30), and tied for the team lead with seven tackles vs. Midwestern State (Sept. 27)... Had four solo tackles as No. 10-ranked UTPB earned its first playoff win in program history with a 37-24 victory at No. 4-ranked and No. 3-seeded Colorado State Pueblo (Nov. 22)... Recorded a season-high in both total tackles (11) and solo tackles (7) as No. 10 UTPB's historic season came to an end in the 2025 NCAA Division II Football Championship Super Region 4 Final with a 34-28 loss at No. 2 Harding (Dec. 6)... Named to the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll (4.0 GPA Fall Semester; three straight semesters).

2024 (Junior, Texas State/UTPB):
Attended Texas State University in the Fall season... Did not see action... Transferred back to UTPB in the Spring... Named to the Spring 2025 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2023 (Sophomore, UTPB):
Played in five games before season ended due to injury... Had seven solo tackles with five assists for 12 total tackles... Had his first collegiate interception vs. Southwest Baptist (Sept. 16).

2022 (First-Year, UTPB):
Played in nine games... Had 18 solo tackles with six assists for 24 total tackles, two tackles for a loss and blocked three passes.

Heath High School:
Earned a First-Team All-District nod... In a game that featured 1,491 yards of offense, it was a defensive player who was the hero as Layne Horak made a game-ending interception to give Rockwall-Heath the victory over Rockwall in a double-overtime thriller 79-71. Fans will be talking about this game for years to come. Rockwall-Heath came into the game as the #8 ranked team in Texas 6A, and Rockwall as the #12 ranked team. The Hawks hadn’t won against Rockwall in a regular-season game in 5 years. Something had to change.

Personal:
Made the Dean's List at UTPB four times... Is a member of various criminal justice clubs... His goal after UTPB is to continue playing football.
