Biography

2025 (Sophomore):
Appeared in seven games... Completed 38-of-53 passes (71.70 percent) for 486 yards, five touchdowns and one interception... Also rushed 13 times for 34 yards... Made his season debut, came in on UTPB's third drive of the game, and finished by completing 20 of his 26 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns as the Falcons defeated the Adams State University by a final score of 41-7 (Sept. 6). Mooring came in on the third play of the Falcons' third drive of the game and helped UTPB makes its way downfield. Facing third down and 10 on his first play, Mooring squeezed in a pass of 13 yards down the middle of the field to Ben Patterson to move the chains. The possession would ultimately finish with a seven-yard touchdown pass from Mooring to Jaylon Tillman to cap a 13-play, 76-yard scoring drive. In the first half, Mooring was 10-of-16 for 128 yards and two touchdowns after entering the game on UTPB's third drive. On UTPB's first offensive play of the second half, Mooring hit Traylen Suel on a deep post for a 36-yard touchdown pass. Mooring was a perfect 10-for-10 with 138 yards through three possessions in the second half, each of which resulted in a Falcon touchdown. Making his eighth-career start after starting each of the final seven games of the season as a true freshman in 2024, Mooring finished Saturday's performance with his second-highest passing percentage (76.9 percent), third-highest passing yardage (266), and had his third-career game with at least three touchdown passes... Named to the Fall 2025 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2024 (First-Year):
Appeared in eight games as a true freshman and started all but two of them… Completed 60 percent of his passes for 1,573 yards and 14 touchdowns… Rushed for an additional 181 yards and three touchdowns… Threw for over 200 yards in each of the final four games of the season and went over 300 yards in each of the final two games... Had two or more touchdown passes in four games... Led the Falcons to their highest ranked win in program history vs. Central Washington (Oct. 12). Mooring would finish 12-of-24 for 107 yards passing, but showed his toughness as he led the Falcons with 55 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 attempts. In the second half alone, Mooring was 9-for-13 for 105 yards passing while adding 42 rushing yards... Set his season-high marks in passing yards (353), touchdowns (5), and completion percentage (92.9) in the regular-season finale vs. Sul Ross State (Nov. 16). Mooring was 24-for-26 passing for 350 yards and all five of his passing touchdowns in the first half. Mooring added just two passing attempts to his total in the second half, finishing 26-for-28 for 353 yards for the game. In addition to setting a program record for passing percentage (92.9 percent), Mooring now has the seventh most passing yards in a game for a single player in program history. Meanwhile, UTPB's 393 combined passing yards are the fifth most in a game in program history...  Finished 27-of-51 for 337 yards and two touchdowns in the Heritage Bowl vs. No. 25 Central Missouri (Dec. 7)... In the LSC he ranked first in passing yards per game (196.6) and completion percentage (60.5), ranked third in total offense per game (219.3) and passing touchdowns (14), and was fifth in total passing yards (1573)... Named to the Fall 2024 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School:
Was a First-Team All District quarterback with 2,663 passing yards and 28 total touchdowns.
