Iowa Central CC (2022):
Played at Iowa Central CC in 2022... Caught 29 passes for 519 yards and five touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2022 at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge ... In his lone season at Iowa Central, Sims earned Second Team All-Region honors in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference...
Sims had a lot of catching up to do when he arrived in Fort Dodge.  He was more than three years removed from his last high school game when he made his juco debut. “Football is just kind of natural to me,” he said.  “I’ve been playing it my whole life since I was six years old.  So it’s always been natural to me.  And once I got on the field it just came natural and I just balled out.” Sims handled kickoff returns and found his role in an up-tempo offense that averaged 38.7 points per game with six different receivers who caught more than 20 passes. “I kind of wanted to be a slot receiver and it kind of played out,” he said.  “I used to run a lot of jet sweeps in high school because we came from a Wing-T and I was basically a running back.  And once I got to juco they switched me to a slot receiver and it was natural.”

Ellsworth Community College/Highland Community College:
Also attended Ellsworth Community College and Highland Community College from 2018-21... Redshirted at Highland in 2019... His junior college football experience then hit snag after snag. “Right after high school I couldn’t really find a home and I ended up at juco,” he said.  “I was at Ellsworth (Community College) in the spring, and that coaching staff actually left.  Then I went to Highland (Community College) and the same exact thing happened.” After redshirting as a freshman at Highland in 2019, COVID hit and Sims went home.

High School
Prepped at Horlick (Wis.) under head coach Brian Fletcher... Sims was a superstar ballcarrier in the Wing-T offense, running for more than 1,000 yards and averaging more than 10 yards per carry in 2017 at Horlick High in Racine, Wisconsin... Rushed for 1,700 yards in his career... Was a superstar ballcarrier in the Wing-T offense... Also handled kickoff returns... Up-tempo offense averaged 38.7 points per game his senior season... Was First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-County.
