Victor Gill enters his third season as UT Permian Basin offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Gill joined the Falcons after two years as an assistant at the University of South Florida. Â
Despite injuries up front, the Falcon offensive line allowed just 12 sacks on the season while the Falcons averaged 80 yards per game on the ground in the spring of 2021. Garrett Loudermilk led the way with 172 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons rushed for 25 first downs on the ground.  Â
Gill helped the Falcons have their most prolific rushing attack in 2019, rushing for a program-record 2,019 yards on the ground. The Falcon ground attack also set single-season program records in rushing touchdowns with 22, average yards per carry with 4.4, and first downs rushing with 100. The team had the third ranked rushing attack in the Lone Star Conference behind the triple-option attack of Eastern New Mexico and Tarleton. Â
The Falcons had a monster game on the ground to end the season setting records with 418 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, and three 100-yard rushers. Freshman Gabe Nelson set the program record for rushing touchdowns with six while senior transfer Davion Sutton had five touchdowns to go with a team-high 542 yards. Against Western New Mexico, freshman Caleb Leake became the first quarterback in program history with more than 100 rushing yards and set a new team-record with an 88-yard touchdown run.
The offensive line greatly improved, allowing the fewest sacks in a season in program history while Pablo Gutierrez and Hunter Bowers earned All-Conference Honorable Mention.
He returned to the Lone Star state, previously serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Texas-Austin working with the offensive line, assisting in the development of the Longhorns' run game and serving as defensive scout team coordinator.
Gill helped develop a run game that produced All-Americans Connor Williams, second-round draft pick at left tackle, and running back D'Onta Foreman, third-round draft pick, who helped the Longhorns average 491.3 yards per game and 239.3 rushing yards per game. The Longhorn offense set a school record in 2016, totaling seven games with more than 500 yards and Foreman finished with 2,028 rushing yards in 11 games, just the ninth Power-5-Conference player in NCAA history to record 2,000 yards in a season without the help of a bowl game. Foreman was named the 2016 Doak Walker Award winner and the 2016 Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year.Â
Gill worked as a graduate assistant at his alma mater the University of North Texas where he worked with offensive tackles, oversaw pass protection schemes, and assisted in the development of the run game. The Mean Green won the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl, saw its offensive line lead the nation in fewest sacks allowed in 2012, and rank first in the nation in fewest sacks allowed over a two-year span.
Gill was a four-year letterman at North Texas, three at left tackle, one at tight end, and a two-year captain. He earned first team Sun Belt All-Conference honors and was a 2010 NSCA All-American. Off the field, he was a first team Sun Belt All-Academic Team honoree and a member of the North Texas Dean's List.Â
Gill graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in 2010 from North Texas and earned his master’s in sports management from there as well.
