Victor Gill enters his first season as UT Permian Basin offensive line coach. Gill joins the Falcons after two years as a quality control assistant at the University of Southern Florida.

He returns to the Lone Star state, previously serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Texas-Austin (2015-16) working with the offensive line and tackles, assisting in the development of the Longhorns' run game and serving as defensive scout team coordinator.

Gill worked with current USF offensive line coach Matt Mattox at Texas and helped develop a run game that produced All-Americans Connor Williams (left tackle) and running back D'Onta Foreman, who helped the Longhorns average 491.3 yards per game (16th in FBS) and 239.3 rushing yards per game (17th). The Texas offense set a school record in 2016, totaling seven games with more than 500 yards and Foreman finished second nationally with 2,028 rushing yards in 11 games, just the ninth Power 5 Conference player in NCAA history to record 2,000 yards in a season without the help of a bowl game. Foreman was named the 2016 Doak Walker Award winner and the 2016 Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Prior to his time at Texas, Gill worked as a graduate assistant at the University of North Texas (2012-14) where he worked with offensive tackles, oversaw pass protection schemes and assisted in the development of the run game. North Texas won the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl and saw its offensive line lead the nation in fewest sacks allowed in 2012 and rank first in the nation in pass protection over a two-year span (2012-13).

Gill is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Texas, earning a bachelor's degree in science. He went on to earn a master's degree in science from North Texas in 2013 and was in the advertising graduate program at the University of Texas.

Gill was a four-year letterman on North Texas football team (three at left tackle, one at tight end) and a two-year captain. He earned first team Sun Belt All-Conference honors and was a 2010 NSCA All-American on the field. Off the field, he was a first team Sun Belt All-Academic Team honoree and a member of the North Texas Dean's list.Â
